Don't Tell us Fairy Tales: Performances with Women in Diyarbakır-Trabzon

“Don’t Tell Us Fairy Tales! Cultural Dialogue Between Women in Trabzon and Diyarbakır”, a project initiated by DSM in collaboration with actress and director Dilek Güven and supported by the General Consulate of Sweden, started on September 5th, 2011. As an initial step of the project, a drama workshop will be held for women in Diyarbakır in cooperation with Yenişehir Municipality Women Education and Psychological Support Center EPIDEM, and will continue with 40 participants from different ages and backgrounds during October. As a paralel activity to the drama workshops with amateur women, a professional play will also be staged with two equivalent women casts from Trabzon and Diyarbakır. The process for the play will be composed of paralel rehearsals in both cities, followed by a meeting and stage performances in Diyarbakır, Trabzon and İstanbul.
