Diyarbakır Film Days

5th Diyarbakır Film Days is held with the cooperation of Diyarbakır Cinema Club and Diyarbakır Arts Center between May 19-22, 2011. The festival's opening film, Mandoo, presented by the Kurdish filmmaker Ebrahem Saeedi, had a crowded screening followed by a lengthy Q&A session with the director and producer, Ferzin Kerim. During the 5th Diyarbakır Film Days, more than 50 short films from Turkey and the region were screened, and some of them were Turkey premieres. In addition to the festival program selected by Diyarbakır Cinema Club, films and documentaries produced by Armenia-Turkey Cinema Platform and the GeziciFilm production, Kars Stories, were also presented to audiences from Diyarbakır and the region. In addition to two panels, two different workshops on production and film criticism were organized, the latter in which participants wrote pieces on the opening film Mandoo. A selection from this year's program is planned to be screened in other film activities in the region this coming season.
